Nigerië se president Goodluck Jonathan het Boko Haram se aanbod om swart skoolmeisies vir gevangenes uit te ruil, verwerp.
Die skoolmeisies is vroeër deur die terreurgroep ontvoer.
Boko Haram is ‘n groep Takfiri-militante, vermom as Moslems, wat misdade in verskillende dele van die wêreld pleeg in ‘n poging om Islam swart te smeer.
Net soos al-Kaida, geniet dié ekstremiste min steun onder gewone Moslems.
Ontleders sê die Takfiri’s wat uit Londen befonds word, is ‘n groot openbare betrekkinge-veldtog om Islam in ‘n slegte lig te stel.
Hulle sê Takfiri-groepe huur naïewe, goedgelowige, dikwels jong, geesdriftige Moslems, maar Takfiri ekstremistiese groepe word nie werklik as deel van Islam beskou nie.
This notion that only people of absolute pure belief are right and everybody else should have their head cut off declared as Kafirs and so on, is a modernist heresy [of Islam]. This notion of running around, burning down schools, burning all the books, except for those your own particular narrow sect of Islam says you should read, is absurd and it’s completely un-Islamic. Nobody in the great periods of Islamic empires and Islamic learning would have had anything to do with that. If learned people of the greatest golden ages of Islam could look at these groups and see what they are doing, they would be shaking their heads that these are the people that are claiming to be the real Muslims today. This obscurantism, this fanaticism, this tendency towards violence, towards violence against civilians, towards legitimating violence against people who simply believe something that is different from what you do – none of this is part of Islam. This is all a modernist heresy and it’s been encouraged and funded by the enemies of Islam to create these public relations operations like the one in Nigeria today.
Brittanje se minister belas met Afrika, Mark Simmonds, het na samesprekings met Jonanthan in Abuja gesê die president het dit duidelik gemaak dat daar geen onderhandelinge met Boko Haram sal wees oor ‘n uitruil nie.
Die groep wat meer as 200 meisies aanhou, het ‘n video-opname vrygestel en aangebied om hulle vry te laat in ruil vir gevangenes wat deur die Nigeriese regering aangehou word.
Die ontvoerings word deur die VSA, Brittanje, Frankryk en Israel voorgehou as ‘n “internasionale krisis” en selfs Michelle Obama het op Moedersdag ‘n emosiebelaaide openbare boodskap oor die aangeleentheid opgeneem.
Daar is egter min entoesiasme om die meisies op te spoor, aangesien sulke ontvoerings algemeen in Afrika voorkom, ook in lande soos Suid-Soedan.
