{"id":575,"date":"2007-06-25T08:06:16","date_gmt":"2007-06-25T08:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/afrikaansenuus.co.za\/?p=575"},"modified":"2007-06-25T08:06:16","modified_gmt":"2007-06-25T08:06:16","slug":"czech-town-rejects-us-radar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/praag.co.za\/?p=575","title":{"rendered":"Czech town rejects US radar"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p align=\"justify\">Residents of Mirosov, a small Czech town of some 2,000 near the Brdy military zone where the United States seeks to place a missile shield radar base, have rejected the US facility in a local referendum. On Sunday, the CTK news agency said all but 30 of the  897 valid votes cast were against erecting the radar base. <\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The  referendum is not politically binding in Prague so it&#8217;s up to the  town&#8217;s council to try and halt the base&#8217;s construction. Another 13  municipalities in the region have received the same mandate from  their residents.
