Verlede maand het die lande bekendgemaak dat hulle van die grootste natuurlike gas bronne ter w&ecirc;reld ontdek het. <\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">  <\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\"><span>Die plan is voorgel&ecirc; as die middelpunt van &lsquo;n energiesekuriteitsplan om die EU-lidlande se afhanklikheid van Rusland te verminder.<\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">  <\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\"><span>Di&eacute; strategiese energieoorsig kom op &lsquo;n baie delikate tyd terwyl die EU weer onderhandelings met Rusland wil hervat oor ekonomiese en energieooreenkomste wat verbreek is toe Rusland Georgi&euml; in Augustus verdedig het. Dit kom ook nadat skerp prysstygings ingetree het en interne konflik oor die EU-klimaatspakket afgekondig is wat lidlande sal dwing om kweekhuisgasse met 20% te sny teen 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">  <\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\"><span>Die EU se strategiese energieoorsig het ook planne uitgesit om geboue meer energiebesparend te maak, noodolievoorrade op te bou, en elektrisiteit vanaf Noordseewindplase en sonplase vanaf die Middellandse See<span>&nbsp; <\/span>aan die Europese energienetwerk te koppel.<\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">  <\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\"><span>Hulle het ook gevra vir &lsquo;n nuwe konsortium, die Kaspiese Ontwikkelingskorporasie, wat &lsquo;n poging gaan aanwend om gas in die omgewing te koop, om die ontwikkeling van nuwe produksie aan te moedig, en te bel&ecirc; in infrastruktuur, wat waarskynlik die trans-Kaspiese pyplyn sal insluit. <\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">  <\/div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"justify\"><span>Die grootste struikelblok met die ontwikkeling van gasvoorsieningsroetes van die Kaspiese see, was die oormatige afhanklikheid van gas van Azerbaidjan, wat dalk nie in die ambisieuse produksiegroeivooruitsigte sal kan voorsien nie.
